Product Description

An engine’s camshafts must be set at their proper positions relative to the crankshaft in order to maximize horsepower. Black Series Pro Series Cam Gears for Honda's B-series and H23A1 engines enable serious tuners to optimize horsepower and torque by being able to adjust camshaft timing +/- 10 degrees, in one-degree increments, allowing them to tailor the power curve appropriately. Thanks to laser-etched timing and directional marks, precise camshaft adjustments can be made quickly and easily. Pro Series Cam Gears feature precision-machined, hard-anodized teeth to reduce premature wear with a signature, six-bolt design that eliminates gear slipping. Skunk2’s lightweight design (35 percent lighter than OEM) and CNC-machined, 7075-T6 billet aluminum construction reduces rotational ... 1)What do the marks on my Pro Series Cam Gear(s) represent?
Each Pro Series Cam Gear mark represents one degree of camshaft timing. Pro Series Cam Gears feature +/- 10 degrees of adjustment.
2)What should I torque my Pro Series Cam Gear(s) adjustment bolts to?
Once installed and adjusted accordingly, apply low-strength, blue Loctite to each bolt and torque to to 96 lb/in using a ¼-inch-drive torque wrench.
3)My woodruff key won't fit into my Pro Series Cam Gear(s). What should I do?
To prevent inaccurate camshaft indexing, the woodruff key must fit tight. Test-fit the woodruff key in the gear’s keyway. If the key is too large, it can be sanded down slightly to fit. Sand carefully; removing too much material will create play between the key and its keyway, leading to possible cam gear failure.
4)What size Allen wrench do Pro Series Cam Gear(s) use?
Use a 4mm Allen wrench to tighten or loosen Pro Series Cam Gear adjustment bolts.
5)Are my Pro Series Cam Gear(s) ready to install once I receive them?
Pro Series Cam Gears are not pre-torqued. Be sure to torque all six adjustment bolts for each gear to 96 lb/in prior to installation. Failure to do so may result in engine damage.
Customer Reviews
  1. “ The easiest set of Cam Gears to use out there ” review by Karl B on 1/20/12
Light weight , A proven 6 bolt design and very easy to adjust when tuning with +/- 10 degrees of timing to utilize to get your motor where you want it to be. When i was shopping around for cam gears to use on my race motor, there were many out there to choose from but the Skunk 2 Pro series cam gears just caught my eye.Not only did they look good but everything mentioned above was a plus for me.Once they were set I never worried and never looked back! I still have the same set in the original box just incase I ever want to build another B-Series! If you are looking for a set of cam gears that you will not have to worry about then get yourself a set of the Pro Series cam gears!
